Great For: Camping, picnicking, boating, fishing, jet-skiing and beach play.
Camping & Day Use: Solano County operates a campground with 42 campsites, Many of which have water and electric hookups. There are restrooms with flush toilets, sinks, campfire rings, hot showers and firewood for purchase. The day use area has picnic sites, parking, and restrooms. There is a 24-hour boat launch and a sandy beach stretching over a half-mile at low tide. Swimming is not allowed due to strong currents and no life guard is on duty.
Did You Know? Either from the shoreline or off the side of a boat, fishing for catfish, sturgeon or striped bass is very popular at Sandy Beach. Rio Vista is also home to the very popular annual Bass Derby Festival held every October, and Sandy Beach is just over a mile away from the event.
