Watershed Education Programs

Solano RCD's education program works to get students outside to learn about our local resources.

Our goal for our outdoor environmental education programming is for all students to be:

  • Engaged – Students are involved in peer discussion, experience moments of wonder and connection to the natural world, and they actively participate in hands-on activities.
  • Successful – Programming fosters social-emotional success through feelings of belonging within the natural world and the learning community. Students have an enjoyable experience and gain a desire to return to nature. Participants demonstrate academic growth through their ability to answer program assessment questions.
  • Environmentally literate – Students are supported in gaining skills and experiences to help them confidently navigate in and understand their connection to local outdoor environments and resources, to the end goal of facilitating lifelong stewardship.
