Interpretive sign at Benicia State Recreation -- SRCD photoBenicia State Recreation Area covers marsh, grassy hillsides and rocky beaches along the narrowest portion of the Carquinez Strait and offers 2.5 miles of road and bike paths. The marshland area on Dillon’s Point is a favorite place for fishing.
Great For: Cyclists, runners, walkers, equestrians, roller skaters, picnics, bird watching and fishing.
Camping & Day Use: Three “Enroute” campsites are available for an overnight stay on a “firstcome, first-served” basis with no reservations possible. This camping is limited to motor homes or vehicles with trailers, which must be fully self-contained. Tents are not permitted.
Did You Know? The Bay Area Ridge Trail runs through the park, part of a larger loop trail. The Benicia SRA is a designated Important Bird Area, which provides essential habitat for bird species including Virginia Rails, endangered California Clapper Rails and Black Rails, herons, egrets, pelicans and terns.
