Solano RCD Commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

Solano RCD recognizes that stewardship of our land and local environment is a shared effort that must include and serve all residents of Solano County. We are committed to ensuring that our programs reach the diverse communities and stakeholders in our district and our county. To achieve this, we believe in creating an inclusive workplace and leadership opportunities for staff, board members, and partners of different backgrounds. Our current priorities include: 

• Regularly convening a JEDI committee (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion; a.k.a. DEI) which is a space for SRCD staff, of diverse identities and responsibilities, who are responsible for strategizing and implementing goals and initiatives connected to JEDI.

• Seeking to expand the diversity of our Board of Directors to better represent the communities where we work.

• Enhancing our recruitment and hiring practices to reach candidates with different racial, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds.

• Reaching parts of Solano County that have less access to outdoor education, environmental programming, and environmental stewardship opportunities.
