Ag Water Efficiency/Mobile Irrigation Lab

Our Agricultural Water Efficiency Program enables Solano RCD to support farmers and landowners in implementing water-saving practices that improve on-farm efficiency and sustainability. Through this program, agricultural producers gain a better understanding of their water use and learn strategies to optimize irrigation, conserve resources, and enhance crop performance. RCD staff conduct site visits and develop tailored recommendations focused on efficient irrigation technologies, soil moisture management, and other water conservation methods suited to the property.

The RCD also connects landowners with state, federal, and local agency partners that offer funding, technical support, and cost-share programs to assist with the installation of water-efficient infrastructure and practices.

Solano RCD utilizes a combination of state funding and agency partnerships to deliver water efficiency support to agricultural producers throughout the District. Since its inception, this program has expanded through partnerships with agencies such as the Dixon Resource Conservation District, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Reclamation District 2068, Maine Prairie Irrigation District, Solano Irrigation District, Solano County Water Agency, Solano County, and Solano County Farm Bureau. These collaborations allow us to reach more landowners, promote sustainable water use, and contribute to a resilient agricultural landscape in Solano County.
