Vallejo Outreach Program
We foster a deep understanding and appreciation for Vallejo's water resources through comprehensive education and outreach initiatives.
What We Do
The Vallejo Outreach program focuses on community education and outreach in the city of Vallejo. Solano RCD education staff facilitate a 10 question educational survey at Vallejo farmer's markets, informing participants on local water resources and stewardship practices. All survey takers get to choose a prize for their participation, can take a farmer's market recipie card, and explore a visual aid of how our choices impact water quality. The Vallejo outreach season takes place each year May-September.
Our Goals
- Engage community members at local farmers' markets by providing accessible information on Vallejo’s water resources, stormwater pollution impacts, and water conservation practices.
- Provide one-on-one education and distribute informational materials and digital resources to increase environmental awareness and encourage local stewardship.
- Develop targeted outreach materials to inform the community about used oil recycling and the prevention of stormwater pollution caused by oil and its byproducts.

The Vallejo Outreach Program is funded by The Vallejo Flood and Wastewater District and the City of Vallejo.
