Dixon/Solano RCD Water Quality Coalition

Solano RCD works cooperatively with Dixon RCD to   coordinate the Dixon/Solano RCD Water Quality Coalition, which is one of ten   sub-watershed groups that make up the larger Sacramento Valley Water Quality   Coalition. Our coalition offers enrollment for landowners and managers with   irrigated agricultural lands in the Solano and Southern Yolo Sub-watershed.   As a part of the larger Sacramento Valley Water Quality Coalition, the   Dixon/Solano RCD Water Quality Coalition helps landowners and operators with   irrigated agricultural lands to comply with the State Water Board's Irrigated   Lands Regulatory Program (IRLP). (Information on the State Water Board's IRLP   can be found at http://www.waterboards.ca.gov/water_issues/programs/agriculture/

The Coalition is responsible for monitoring and   reporting water quality in waterways fed by agricultural drainage water and   for identifying the sources of any water quality and toxicity problems that   occur. The Coalition assists in developing plans to address water quality   problems and meet the guidelines of watershed basin plans and state and   federal environmental standards. The Dixon/Solano RCD Water Quality Coalition   also assists with selecting appropriate water quality monitoring sites, with   funding and coordinating monitoring in our area, and with drafting and   reviewing watershed evaluation reports. It is the goal of the Dixon/Solano   RCD Water Quality Coalition to keep local landowners and growers informed and   to facilitate communication with the State Water Board as the Board develops   future requirements for the Irrigated Lands Regulatory Program.
